Communications and Engagement Specialist


Kelsea is a Communications and Engagement Specialist with over six years of experience working collaboratively with diverse teams to produce original communications materials, develop and implement engagement strategies, coordinate, and facilitate both in-person and virtual events, while supporting the success of large-scale, public projects.

With extensive experience organizing public engagement activities and developing communications and social media strategies, Kelsea has worked with Ideaspace to help build community trust in supportive and affordable housing initiatives across the Lower Mainland of British Columbia and throughout Toronto, Ontario.

In all her work, Kelsea strives to uplift and highlight the voices of equity-deserving groups, including Indigenous Peoples, Black and racialized people, women and the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Kelsea’s passion for storytelling and ensuring diverse representation uniquely positions her to approach all her work through the lens of equity, diversity and inclusion.

Kelsea holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Journalism from Langara College and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Anthropology from the University of British Columbia. She has also completed a Certificate in Indigenous Studies through the University of Alberta, and coursework in Stylistic Editing through Simon Fraser University.
