Enhancing community safety and well-being in Surrey by addressing service gaps for vulnerable populations, including people experiencing homelessness.
Ideaspace facilitated the Safety and Community Services Network, a strategic leadership group with representatives from the local government, the regional health authority and the provincial housing authority. Ideaspace develped and led strategic planning meetings and created supporting engagement opportunities like a service provider “unconference” and the youth-focused Dignity Project. By incorporating voices of lived experience and youth-driven campaigns, Ideaspace ensured inclusive and actionable solutions.
These collaborative initiatives strengthened service delivery, reduced stigma, and fostered a community rooted in dignity and compassion for Surrey’s most vulnerable residents.
