Connecting Richmond Residents to Community Services

Community Services Connectors Program

Connecting Richmond residents with lower incomes to critical community services and supports through accessible, compassionate programming.

Ideaspace developed and implemented the Community Services Connectors Pilot Program. Launched in 2024 by the City of Richmond and Richmond Public Library, the program offered Weekly Drop-in Sessions for one-on-one support and Monthly Snacks and Facts Sessions featuring presentations from local service providers. Ideaspace recruited, trained, and managed a peer-led team of Community Services Connectors with lived experience of systems navigation to connect community members to a range of support services in Richmond. The program also included robust training, promotional outreach, and tools like resource lists and feedback trackers to ensure seamless service delivery and ongoing improvement.

Leading 18 sessions over five months, the pilot served 218 participants, reducing barriers to accessing services, fostering community connections, and inspiring plans to expand the program to other library branches for greater reach and inclusivity.
