Camper to Shelter and Modular Move In Days and Team Debrief Workshop
Ideaspace managed end-to-end tenant relocation planning for the City of Surrey and BC Housing, emphasizing a humanitarian approach to encampments. By fostering respect and dignity, Ideaspace worked with multi-agency teams to coordinate 300 move-ins with care, provided on-the-ground support, and uplifted morale among project staff. A debrief workshop ensured continuous improvement, focusing on communication, client management, and community-building.
The Surrey initiative set a compassionate standard for encampment response, ensuring people were transitioned with dignity. Insights and improvements informed future projects, including a successful, humane encampment relocation effort in Nanaimo later that year.
